Photographs from a Beautiful Cottage Wedding

TARA + OLIVER

For Tara and Oli, their dream wedding unfolded at Tara's family cottage, lovingly nicknamed "Jackpot Point". Nestled by the waterfront, this special place set the stage for a day filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. The cottage holds a special place in Tara’s heart. Oli was captivated by the endless fishing, wake surfing, and weekends spent with loved ones. The backdrop of the cottage and the lake added a touch of magic to their wedding day, filled with the nostalgia of countless cherished moments.

From the moment Tara and Oli met Derrick from Union Eleven, they knew they had found someone who truly understood their wedding vision. Derrick arrived early while the bride and groom got ready with their families. In those moments, surrounded by loved ones, Tara and Oli were reminded to slow down, bask in the pre-wedding excitement, and savour the connection with their families.

Among the countless captured memories, Tara holds a particular photo dear to her heart. It’s the moment just before she walked down the aisle, stepping off the pontoon boat with her dress and bouquet (done by Oli’s mother) in hand, while the best man, Alex, held the boat steady. This image transports her back to the wedding day. Another cherished image is the black and white photograph capturing Oli's teary-eyed expression as Tara walked down the aisle.

After the ceremony, Tara's parents took them them on a surprise cottage tradition. The couple sat atop the back of her Dad’s convertible, driven from the point to the baseball diamond, where their reception tent stood. This heartwarming gesture comes from Tara's childhood, where an annual potluck parade always ended with her Dad driving his convertible, a guest of honour gracing the backseat.
